Lord of the Rings is one of the greatest stories ever told. The seed of a thousand imitators, but never matched, this is the legend that tells of a Hobbit, asked by a Wizard to take on a great task, and of the companions that help him through a great adventure.

Now of course made into a series of absolutely amazing films by Peter Jackson, that have brought the legend to many more around the world. Who now does not know the story of Frodo, Gandalf and their friends on a quest to destroy the One Ring?

Naturally, this being one of the most inspirational tales on Earth, or even Middle Earth, there are a multitude of wonderful websites devoted to all aspects of LotR. I could work on an LotR website full time for many months and still only get part of the way in. So, on this site dedicated to the diversity of myth, legend and other realities, I can only touch on this wide subject. No doubt one of the most useful things I can do here is to point you towards the best of those many LotR sites. And yet, I will certainly find that I need to talk about it myself. The book, the films, the other books such as The Hobbit, Silmarillion, etc. the different races, the languages....

Please note: I am now ready to start taking contributions from those who either don't have their own websites or would like a wider audience for anything related, particularly artwork and fan fiction. Sections will be created as and when they become necessary. This site develops slowly, but it keeps getting bigger and you have my word, it will still be here in ten years and more.
