Chimaera |

The Chimaera (spelled by some as Chimera) usually has two heads - the goat and the lion. No two chimaeras are quite the same though as they are basically a magically created hybrid between lion, goat and serpent-dragon. The foreparts are of the lion, the midpart is the body of the goat and the rear section of a serpent-type dragon. The lion's head is often dominant and the rear serpent part might have grown a head as well. Chimaeras are large (up to 12 feet long) and breathe fire. They are 3-hex monsters. The Chimaera can breathe a cone of fire (from the lion's head). Other than that, it has no special skills or magical ability. They use their fire breath in combat to a range of 50 feet (20 feet diameter at the end of the cone.) It takes an effort though. They also bite with the lion's head. They like ruin and will ruin their surroundings, so the area around their lair is likely to be ruined and burned wasteland. Chimaeras do not hoard treasure like dragons do, so look around their lairs for victims of their fire, who will no doubt still have whatever wealth they might have been carrying, (though it may be badly singed!).
I would like to hear any thoughts visitors here might have on the site, the subjects, and anything else of interest. You may send me telepathic messages if you like, but if that is not one of your talents, then please e-mail me.
